Energization

Energization is the point when electrical facilities are made live and capable of receiving or delivering power. It is not the same as commercial operation, commissioning completion, or ready-for-service under a lease.

Point of interconnection

Point of interconnection is the point where the customer or project facilities electrically connect to the utility or transmission-provider system. POI choice can determine cost, schedule, losses, network upgrades, land rights, and whether a site is feasible.

Fault tolerant

Fault tolerant means the facility can continue operating through an individual equipment failure or distribution-path interruption. It is associated with Tier IV, but real fault tolerance depends on detailed topology, controls, and isolation.
