Reliability

Reliability is the ability of a system to perform its intended function over time under stated conditions. For data centers, reliability depends on design, equipment, operations, maintenance, utility performance, and human procedures.

Distribution

Distribution is the lower-voltage system that delivers electricity from substations to end users. Most very large data center campuses eventually require sub-transmission or transmission-level coordination even if some service is delivered through distribution assets.

Queue position

Queue position is the project's place or priority in the study process. It can affect cost allocation and study order, but newer cluster processes increasingly emphasize readiness, deposits, and site control rather than simple first-come ordering.

Demand response

Demand response is a customer or aggregator program that reduces load in response to price, reliability events, or dispatch signals. Critical data center load is hard to curtail, but batteries, cooling thermal inertia, backup systems, or flexible compute may create limited opportunities.
