Energy charge

An energy charge bills total consumption, usually in dollars per kWh. It captures volume of electricity consumed, while demand charges capture the system capacity needed to serve the customer's peak.

BFE

Base Flood Elevation is the expected surface-water elevation for a flood with a 1 percent annual chance of being equaled or exceeded. It informs minimum elevations, floodproofing, and equipment-location decisions.
